The FrameNode 3700 Frame Relay Router
is specifically designed for business-critical branch internetworking
at small or medium branches on public, private or hybrid
frame relay networks.
Engineered for exceptional price/performance, the 3700
platform integrates in a single box:
- A 56/64 Kbps DSU/CSU for connecting to the frame relay
network
- An BRI ISDN Terminal adapter or V.90 modem for dial
backup
- A service modem for out-of-band network management
connection
- A token ring or Ethernet LAN interface
- Up to four serial data ports for SNA or legacy applications
- A local network management port for on-site management
of the box
- Circuit Management via Virtual Network Interactive
Protocol (VNIP)
The 3700 runs award-winning FrameNode software, which
delivers business-critical SNA, powerful IP branch routing
and integral circuit management. The FrameNode software
features: powerful multi-protocol quality of service, non-disruptive
SNA session rerouting, automatic dial backup, frame relay
bandwidth allocation and burst management, and automatic
dial backup.
BENEFITS
The FrameNode 3700 platform is a complete branch
internetworking solution delivering exceptional price/performance
over multi-box alternatives. This enables you to add new
services while reducing network complexity and operating
costs.
Its powerful connectivity and quality-of-service
features converge SNA, legacy, and IP applications across
frame relay. The FrameNode’s award-winning QoS
capabilities enables you to add new IP intranet applications
without comprising the performance of your existing mission
critical applications.
The FrameNode is optimized for large, hierarchical topologies
common in branch networks. Its extensive network management
tools allow these networks to be rapidly migrated to frame
relay. The proactive management tools ensure optimal network
availability with minimal impact to operational staff.
